Supplementary Material For Toward Digital Equity in Global Education: A Systematic Hybrid Thematic–SWOT Review of Pedagogical Innovation Using AI, Gamification, and AR/VR
收藏资源简介:
This repository contains supplementary data and materials for a systematic review of digital equity in global education, covering pedagogical innovations in artificial intelligence (AI), gamification, and augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR). Study Overview This systematic review, covering literature from 2018 to 2026, synthesizes findings from 176 empirical studies (including 6 new meta-analyses) to address two primary research questions: Impact: How do AI, gamification, and AR/VR technologies affect learning engagement and outcomes? Systemic Factors: What systemic factors and strategies either facilitate or impede digital equity in education? The review employs a novel "Hybrid Thematic–SWOT" methodology, combining inductive thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006) with strategic SWOT analysis (Hill & Westbrook, 1997). The study is framed around the Digital Equity Ecosystem Framework (DEEF), which identifies three interdependent dimensions of equity: Infrastructure, Pedagogy, and Epistemology. Key Findings & Contributions Consolidated Evidence Base: Synthesizes data from 176 studies, confirming that AI and AR/VR significantly boost engagement (28-35%) and learning outcomes (effect size d=0.98), while gamification enhances motivation (32-62%). Identifying Critical Gaps: The review highlights a high risk of widening "AI divides" and significant algorithmic bias. It also identifies a critical lack of research from the Global South and on neurodivergent populations. Actionable Framework: The study proposes 25 evidence-based strategic recommendations with specific quantitative targets, success indicators, and implementation priorities. Theoretical Contribution: Presents the DEEF as an integrative framework for understanding digital equity, with epistemological justice as a distinct and central dimension, and compares it with seven other prominent frameworks (van Dijk, Ragnedda, Helsper, Couldry & Mejias, Noble/Benjamin, etc.). Future Research Agenda: Outlines a 10-point future research agenda and 10 research gaps to guide subsequent investigations. Data & Materials This Zenodo repository contains the full supplementary materials for the review, including: Methodological Quality Appraisal: A comprehensive table (S1) of NOS/CASP quality ratings for all 176 included studies. Thematic Coding & SWOT Analysis: Full coding agreement data (Table S2), detailed SWOT protocols, mapping, and reliability scores for all studies (Tables S3A-C). Strategic Clustering: Full analysis of 68 themes grouped into 16 strategic clusters (TC1-TC16), including cluster intensity, relationships, and representative sources (Tables S5A-C). Evidence-Based Recommendations: A complete list of the 25 policy and practice recommendations (Table S6A), along with implementation priorities and relationship logic. Validation of the DEEF Framework: A comprehensive cross-tabulation validation of the DEEF dimensions across the 176 studies (Tables S9A-D). Comparison with Prior Reviews: A detailed comparative analysis of this study against four prior systematic reviews, outlining its novelty and complementarities (Tables S7A-C). PRISMA 2020 Checklist: A completed checklist for the systematic review (Table S11). Complete Reference List: A bibliography of all 176 studies included in the review and all cited literature. This dataset is intended to support researchers, policymakers, and practitioners in the fields of educational technology, digital equity, and pedagogical innovation. It provides a rigorous, evidence-based foundation for designing, implementing, and evaluating equitable digital education strategies and interventions.
