Development of a comprehensive population estimation method from environmental DNA using universal D-loop amplification primers

The HaCeD-Seq method can estimate fish populations from environmental DNA. The primers for HaCeD-Seq were modified to detect all fish species, and the species and populations of fish kept in aquariums were estimated from aquarium water.

HaCeD-Seq方法可基于环境DNA（environmental DNA）估算鱼类种群数量。为使HaCeD-Seq所用的引物（primer）能够检测所有鱼类物种，研究人员对其进行了改造；随后利用该方法，可从水族箱水体中估算出其中饲养鱼类的物种种类与种群数量。
