This dataset contains the GCM reduced variables of the outputs of the Venus PCM for the manuscript "Mountain waves in the upper atmosphere of Venus". It consists of NetCDF files showed in the following figures: Figure 1. Zonal wind and wave amplitude above the Beta Regio area [100◦W-40◦W ; 30◦S-30◦N] for three local times. Figure 2. Maps of downwards vertical wind speed (cm/s) above Beta Regio from the cloud top (70 km) to the thermosphere (135 km) for three local times. Positive (negative) values are downwards (upwards). Figure 3. Westward zonal wind (averaged for latitudes 40◦S-40◦N for data accumulated over one solar day) as a function of local time for altitudes 100 and 135 km. Continuous lines are averaged for one solar day, whereas the dashed line is averaged only for local times 16h-18h above Beta Regio (longitude 78◦ W). Figure 4. Vertical divergence of the momentum flux for local times 14h-16h and all latitudes, in m/s/Earth-day (1 Earth-day = 86400s) above the cloud top. Figure 5. Upwards vertical transport of angular momentum at various altitudes intervals in the cloud deck (48-70 km) and above, averaged for one Solar day. The fluxes are relative to the total atmospheric angular momentum of the Venusian atmosphere (1.5×1028 kg m2 s−1) for one Venusian solar day (Vd).

本数据集包含用于论文《金星高层大气中的山地波》的金星PCM(Venus PCM)输出结果的大气环流模式(General Circulation Model, GCM)约减变量。数据集包含以下图示对应的NetCDF格式文件: 图1:三个地方时下,贝塔大区(Beta Regio)上空[西经100°—西经40°;南纬30°—北纬30°]区域的纬向风与波幅。 图2:三个地方时下,贝塔大区内从云顶(70 km)至热层(135 km)的向下垂直风速(单位:cm/s)分布。其中正(负)值对应向下(向上)的垂直运动。 图3:以地方时为横轴,海拔100 km与135 km处的西向纬向风分布,该数据取自南纬40°—北纬40°纬度带内一个太阳日内的累积数据并求平均。图中实线为一个太阳日的平均结果,虚线仅为贝塔大区(西经78°)上空16时—18时地方时的平均结果。 图4:云顶上空,地方时14时—16时、全纬度范围内的动量通量垂直散度,单位为m/s/地球日(1地球日=86400秒)。 图5:金星云层(48—70 km)及以上高度层内,不同高度区间的角动量向上垂直输送量,取一个太阳日的平均结果。该输送通量为相对于一个金星太阳日(Vd)内金星大气总角动量(1.5×10²⁸ kg·m²·s⁻¹)的相对值。
