The 110-member historical experiments (1850-2014) and Shared Socio-economic Pathway (SSP) high-emission scenario (SSP5-8.5) experiments (2015-2099) are performed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Flexible Global Ocean–Atmosphere–Land System model Grid version 3 (FGOALS-g3). Among the members, only the initial values are different and they are chosen from the FGOALS-g3 preindustrial control (piControl) simulations. These 110-member historical and SSP5-8.5 simulations are following the experimental design of CMIP6 (Eyring et al., 2016). The datasets are employed for the description and validation of the 110 ensemble members, including monthly surface air temperature (SAT), total precipitation, wind vector fields at 850hPa, and daily precipitation, daily SAT maximum.
