In this study, we developed a new method to overcome the limitations of traditional gut microbiome analysis, focusing on issues related to host genetic background and the use of the fecal microbiome as a proxy for the total gut microbiome. To minimize rapid changes in the microbiome due to various interacting factors, including genetic influences, in mice, the human fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) method was applied to accurately assess strength-enhancing efficacy. We comparatively analyzed changes in the composition of the overall gastrointestinal (GI) microbiota of individual rats before and after FMT, and through subsequent proof-of-concept experiments conforming to Koch's postulates, we identified gut lineages associated with muscle strength improvement.
