A monthly time-averaged 2-dimensional data collection of radiation parameters is included in the Modern-Era Retrospective analysis for Research and Applications version 2 (MERRA-2). It contains global model and data assimilation results that incorporate satellite-based observations to predict monthly radiation parameters, that include surface albedo, cloud area fraction, in cloud optical thickness, surface incoming shortwave flux (i.e., solar radiation), surface net downward shortwave flux, and upwelling longwave flux at top of atmosphere (i.e., outgoing longwave radiation).
