Pellicule proteome in Acinetobacter baumannii

The present data set provides the first description of the whole proteome of A. baumannii cells grown as pellicle using a label-free mass spectrometry approach. Results accord with the general findings reporting that sessile bacteria are far more resistant to detrimental conditions than their planktonic counterparts, by the accumulation of stress proteins. The present investigation also confirmed previous studies suggesting a correlation between the pellicle forming ability and the bacterial virulence.

本数据集首次采用无标记质谱法（label-free mass spectrometry），对浮膜态生长的鲍曼不动杆菌（A. baumannii）的全蛋白质组进行了表征分析。研究结果契合学界普遍共识：固着细菌可通过积累应激蛋白，使其对不利环境的耐受性远高于对应的浮游态细菌。本研究同时验证了既往研究提出的细菌浮膜形成能力与致病菌毒力之间存在相关性的结论。
