In this study, we performed high-throughput RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) of different tissues of sweet basil-namely peltate glandular trichome (PGT), leaf minus PGT (leaf-PGT), leaf and root to generate a quantitative and comparative profile of the gene expression pattern in various tissues. This comprehensive data revealed the tissue-specific gene expression profile which is extremely significant for understanding the gene targets that are involved in tissue-specific development and functions. Such gene targets can further become potent tools for metabolic engineering.
本研究针对甜罗勒的不同组织开展高通量RNA测序(RNA-Seq),所涉组织包括盾状腺毛(peltate glandular trichome,PGT)、去除盾状腺毛的叶片(leaf minus PGT,缩写为leaf-PGT)、完整叶片与根部,旨在构建不同组织中基因表达模式的定量比较图谱。本综合性测序数据集揭示了组织特异性基因表达谱,这对解析参与组织特异性发育与功能调控的基因靶点具有关键价值。此类基因靶点后续可成为代谢工程研究的有效工具。
