Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest (US Forest Service): Wind Speed and Wind Direction Measurements, 1965 - present

Wind data have been measured by an anemometer mounted 3 m
above the ground at Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest Headquarters
since 1965. Prior to 1981, every mile of wind movement caused a tick
mark on a strip-chart recorder, and wind direction as N, S, E, W, or
a combination, was recorded continuously. Since 1981, wind speed and
direction have been collected by an automatic data logger system. In
2004, a R.M. Young company wind speed direction sensor (model 05103)
was installed. Since that time wind direction (azimuth) are based on
a 0 to 360 degree scale.

自1965年起，哈伯德布鲁克实验林总部（Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest Headquarters）地面上方3米处安装的风速计（anemometer）持续采集风速数据。1981年以前，纸带式记录仪（strip-chart recorder）上每1英里的风程便会留下一处刻度标记，风向则以北、南、东、西或其组合形式进行连续记录。1981年起，风速与风向数据由自动数据记录系统（automatic data logger system）采集。2004年，现场安装了R.M. Young公司生产的型号为05103的风速风向传感器。自此之后，风向（方位角，azimuth）均以0至360度的刻度标准进行计量记录。
