Supporting data for "Assessed student writing at the postgraduate level: Education students’ genre knowledge in assignment writing"

The study title "Assessed student writing at the postgraduate level: Education students’ genre knowledge in assignment writing" utilises the database of an academic writing corpus which comprises exemplary MEd and MSc assignment papers gathered in the Faculty of Education of the University of Hong Kong. In addition, text-based interviews are conducted with some of the MEd and MSc students which complement with the corpus information.I have uploaded the interview protocol and the transcripts of the text-based interviews. However, the copyright issue of the corpus data should be cautioned. This thesis project is part of a larger UGC-funded project titled "Linking the academic and professional worlds: Written assignments and feedback in a Master-level postgraduate professional development programme" (HREC Reference Number: EA1501049) whose PI is my thesis supervisor Dr. Yongyan Li in the Faculty of Education of Education, University of Hong Kong. In the larger project, Dr Li has started to build the Hong Kong Corpus of Masters Writing, or HKCMW, which comprises of Master’s assignment papers which have been awarded A+, A, or A-. If the corpus data are to be shared, informed consent should be obtained from Dr Li. According to Dr. Li, the corpus data will not be shared publicly at this stage. Therefore, the corpus is not uploaded.

研究标题《研究生阶段学生写作评估：教育专业学生在作业写作中的体裁知识》利用了一个学术写作语料库的数据库，该语料库包含香港大学教育学院收集的优秀教育硕士（MEd）和理学硕士（MSc）作业论文。此外，研究还对部分教育硕士和理学硕士学生进行了文本访谈，以补充语料库信息。我已上传访谈方案和文本访谈的记录。但需注意语料库数据的版权问题。该论文项目是一个更大的大学教育资助委员会（UGC）资助项目的一部分，该项目标题为《连接学术与专业世界：硕士阶段研究生专业发展项目中的书面作业与反馈》（人类研究伦理委员会参考编号：EA1501049），其项目负责人（PI）是我的论文导师、香港大学教育学院的李永艳博士。在该大型项目中，李博士已开始构建香港硕士写作语料库（Hong Kong Corpus of Masters Writing，简称HKCMW），该语料库包含获得A+、A或A-等级的硕士作业论文。若需共享语料库数据，需获得李博士的知情同意。据李博士表示，目前阶段语料库数据不会公开共享，因此未上传该语料库。
