Jeri Powell, 19.; Supplementary material reads: "Queen of the $10,000 Long Beach float in the New Year's Day Tournament of Roses in Pasadena, is Jeri Powell, 19, of 636 Cartagena Drive. Formally gowned, Jeri will be enthroned under a floral canopy toward the rear of the float and attended by two 'Nubian slaves'. She was chosen from 73 girls in a contest sponsored by the Public Relations Committee of the Long Beach City Council at the Municipal Auditorium Nov. 20".
