This study found that polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) induced high expression of miR-155, which exaggerated atherosclerosis through directly targeted and down-regulated the expression of SERPIND1. Our study provides a fundamental insight into the miR-155 mechanism for PAHs enhancing atherosclerosis and miR-155 potentially serve as a novel drug target.
本研究发现,多环芳烃(polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons,PAHs)可诱导miR-155高表达,后者通过直接靶向并下调丝氨酸蛋白酶抑制剂家族D成员1(SERPIND1)的表达,加剧动脉粥样硬化进程。本研究为阐明多环芳烃促进动脉粥样硬化的miR-155作用机制提供了基础性理论见解,且miR-155有望成为新型药物靶点。
