Unhealthy diet changes host's commensal microbiota (dysbiosis). We found loss of NLRP12 exacerbate this diet-induced dysbiosis. During the period of 20 weeks HFD, Nlrp12â/â mice developed a dysbiotic microbiome featured a decreased of beneficial commensal bacterial groups (Clostridiales and Lachnospiraceae) but increased immunogenic bacterial groups (Erysipelotrichaceae). We collected the fecal samples at 1, 5 and 15 weeks of HFD, and found these changes processed correlated with the obesity progression.
