ABSTRACT Objective: to assess the effects of an intervention based on the Theater of the Oppressed in reducing school bullying. Method: a quasi-experimental study with 232 first-year high school students from two public schools in the city of Cuiabá, Mato Grosso State, Brazil. An intervention was performed with the Theater of the Oppressed, a theatrical methodology created by Augusto Boal and inspired by Paulo Freire’s “Pedagogy of the Oppressed”, in which one school composed the intervention group, and another school, the comparison group. Both groups were assessed for involvement in bullying situations before and after intervention. For data analysis, Poisson Regression models with random effect were used. Results: intervention group presented a significant decrease in direct victimization (physical and verbal aggression). Conclusion: the Theater of the Oppressed represents an important strategy in reducing bullying victimization among school adolescents.

摘要 研究目的:评估基于被压迫者剧场(Theater of the Oppressed)的干预措施对减少校园欺凌(school bullying)的效果。 研究方法:本研究为类实验研究,纳入巴西马托格罗索州库亚巴市两所公立中学的232名高一学生。其中一所学校的学生组成干预组,接受由奥古斯托·博阿尔(Augusto Boal)创立、受保罗·弗莱雷(Paulo Freire)《被压迫者教育学》(Pedagogy of the Oppressed)启发的被压迫者剧场干预方案;另一所学校的学生作为对照组。两组均在干预前后完成欺凌卷入状况评估。数据分析采用带随机效应的泊松回归(Poisson Regression)模型。 研究结果:干预组的直接欺凌受害(躯体攻击与言语攻击)情况出现显著下降。 研究结论:被压迫者剧场是减少校园青少年欺凌受害的重要策略。
