VORTEX (Variscite Origin Recognition Technology X-ray based) Data. A european geoarchaeological green phosphate compositional dataset

This dataset includes the compositional information of n=1,778 samples of geoarchaeological green phosphate minerals sourced from three major Iberian deposits: Aliste, Terena, and the Gavà Mines. It has been used to develop a data-driven framework that integrates portable X-ray fluorescence (p-XRF) analysis and machine learning (ML), to determine the provenance of archaeological artifacts based on its elemental composition. Additionally, we present the data from n=571 variscite beads from 15 Iberian and french archaeological sites, representing a diverse range of chrono-cultural contexts spanning the Neolithic to the Bronze Age used to test the model.本数据集收录了源自伊比利亚三大主要矿床（阿利斯特、特雷纳及加瓦矿场）的n=1778件地理考古学（geoarchaeological）绿色磷酸盐矿物样品的成分信息。该数据集被用于构建集成便携式X射线荧光（portable X-ray fluorescence，p-XRF）分析与机器学习（machine learning，ML）的数据驱动框架，以基于元素成分判定考古器物的产地来源。此外，本数据集还纳入了来自15处伊比利亚及法国考古遗址的n=571件磷铝石（variscite）珠饰数据，这些样品涵盖了从新石器时代至青铜时代的多样年代文化背景，用于对所构建的模型开展测试验证。
