We investigated red-beds, boulders of silcretes and calcretes exposed around the margins and in river systems of the Congo Basin. We analyzed trace elements, 87Sr/86Sr and 143Nd/144Nd of 21 samples, and performed dilute leaching experiments on 3 of these samples to determine the source provenance and potential to release Sr during weathering. These samples were analyzed by ICP-MS at the University of Cape Town (UCT) and Nelson Mandela University (NMU) in South Africa.

本研究对刚果盆地周边及河流水系中出露的红层、硅结砾岩(silcrete)巨砾与钙质结壳(calcrete)巨砾开展了调查。本次研究对21件样品的微量元素、^87Sr/^86Sr及^143Nd/^144Nd比值进行了分析,并选取其中3件样品开展稀溶淋滤实验,以明确其物源成因以及风化过程中锶(Sr)的释放潜力。上述样品的测试分析工作均在南非开普敦大学(University of Cape Town, UCT)及纳尔逊·曼德拉大学(Nelson Mandela University, NMU)通过电感耦合等离子体质谱仪(ICP-MS)完成。
