This dataset was generated from an ocean–sea-ice hindcast simulation of the Community Earth System Model version 2 (CESM2). These files contain the simulated satellite observations from the Chlorophyll Observation Simulator Package (ChlOSP). The variables include the weighted SST and chlorophyll fields, along with their respective weights. This simulation utilized the GOMIPECOIAF_JRA-1p4-2018 component set, which uses the JRA55 (version 1.4) atmospheric reanalysis. The JRA forcing starts in 1958 and runs through 2019 (61 years). The model was run through two cycles of the forcing data (i.e., 122 years) to allow the ocean state to adjust to the forcing from the reanalysis atmospheric forcing. We analyze years 2003 to 2016 to compare with satellite data over the same time period.
