The Iberian cryoEM community BAG (II)

The Iberian cryoEM BAG is a large consortium (~40 groups) composed of Portuguese and Spanish laboratories working in biologically relevant problems including disease related metabolic enzymes, antibiotic resistance, DNA replication and DNA maintenance, protein synthesis, virus structure and its replication/transcription mechanisms, and macromolecular complexes involved in the control of key cellular processes like protein folding and degradation. For these research groups electron cryomicroscopy is a fundamental tool and access to ESRF facilities is essential to achieve their objectives.

伊比利亚冷冻电镜BAG（Iberian cryoEM BAG）是一个由葡萄牙与西班牙实验室构成的大型联盟（约40个研究组），专注于解决生物学相关的关键问题，涵盖疾病相关代谢酶、抗生素耐药性、DNA复制与维持、蛋白质合成、病毒结构及其复制/转录机制，以及参与蛋白质折叠与降解等核心细胞过程调控的大分子复合物。

对于这些研究组而言，冷冻电子显微镜（electron cryomicroscopy）是一项基础工具，而使用欧洲同步辐射装置（ESRF）的设施对于实现其研究目标至关重要。
