This dataset comprises standardized diagnostic data developed to evaluate the accuracy of the Xpert® MTB/RIF assay, utilizing induced sputum and gastric lavage samples obtained from pediatric patients with suspected tuberculosis in Cape Town, South Africa, during the MVA85A TB vaccine trial. It includes test results from 1020 children collected between 2009 and 2012, compares the diagnostic performance of the two sample types, and covers key indicators including the positivity rate, sensitivity and specificity of both MGIT culture and the Xpert assay. This dataset is associated with studies of the MVA85A TB vaccine trial.
