The goal of this project is to identify the genes that cause male sterility which called as tetrad sterility. Potatoes with cytoplasm derived from the tetraploid Solanum stoloniferum cause tetrad sterility. In this study, to identify the mitochondrial genes responsible for this tetrad sterility, we performed whole genome sequencing and de novo assembly of multiple posterior generations of S. stoloniferum using Nanopore Sequencing Technology.

本项目旨在鉴定引发四分体不育(tetrad sterility)这类雄性不育的相关基因。由四倍体匍匐茎茄(Solanum stoloniferum)细胞质衍生的马铃薯会引发四分体不育。本研究中,为鉴定介导该四分体不育的线粒体基因,我们采用纳米孔测序技术(Nanopore Sequencing Technology)对多代匍匐茎茄(S. stoloniferum)后代开展了全基因组测序与从头组装。
