Transcriptional profiling of circulatory monocytes in community-acquired pneumonia

In this study, we sought to broaden our understanding of circulatory monocyte functions captured during the acute (on hospital admission; day0) and recovery (one month follow-up) stages of patients diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). Examination of RNA expression in circulating CD14+ monocytes obtained from CAP patients on hospital admission (CAP; day0), from the same patients after one month recovery (CAP_D28; one month), and age and sex-matched control participants (Healthy_Volunteer; HV).

本研究旨在加深对社区获得性肺炎（community-acquired pneumonia, CAP）患者急性期（入院当日，即day0）与康复期（1个月随访）阶段所捕获的循环单核细胞功能的认知。我们对三类样本的循环CD14阳性单核细胞（CD14+ monocytes）进行了RNA表达分析：CAP患者入院时采集的样本（CAP；day0）、同一批CAP患者康复1个月后采集的样本（CAP_D28；1个月），以及年龄与性别匹配的健康志愿者（Healthy_Volunteer, HV）对照样本。
