The objective of the study focuses on the characterization of the nasal microbiome of apparently healthy (n=47) and BRD-affected (n=49) pen-mates dairy calves as a potential additional diagnostic tool to identify an animal with BRD. Samples were collected fom a farm in California. For the nasal microbiome analysis, the region V4 of the 16S rRNA gene was amplified and sequenced using Illumina MiSeq Sequencer.
