ABSTRACT The objective of this paper is to evaluate the vality of Porter’s typology applied to the polyethylene resins industry. The main generic strategies and industry major strategic groups were identified and also the occurrence of hybrid strategies. A total of 112 observations, using a Likert importance scale, has been got from 71 firms, accounting for 26 competitive methods related to Porter’s generic strategies typology. Using the multivariate data analysis method (factor, cluster and discriminant analysis) it was possible to identify six factors or strategy dimensions and to define four strategic main groups.
摘要 本文旨在评估应用于聚乙烯树脂行业的波特类型学(Porter’s typology)的有效性。研究识别了主要通用竞争战略与行业核心战略群组,并考察了混合战略的存在情况。研究从71家企业中共收集到112份基于李克特重要性量表的观测数据,涵盖26种与波特通用竞争战略类型学相关的竞争手段。通过运用多元数据分析方法(因子分析、聚类分析与判别分析),本研究成功识别出六个战略维度因子,并界定出四个主要战略群组。
