The avian tooth NHMM/RD271 is from the type Maastrichtian (SE Netherlands / NE Belgium), Maastricht Formation, base of Valkenburg Member (Late Cretaceous), biocalcarenitic limestone. First described as belonging to the Ornithurae, our work helped precising its identification, in the Ichthyornithiformes (see Dumont et al. 2016).
