The development and validation of a three-dimensional COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy scale

Despite the availability of Covid-19 vaccines for the general population since the first months of 2021, vaccine hesitancy is widespread. In this context, a validated tool for properly assessing vaccine hesitancy is essential. The complexity, the dynamic and context-specific nature of the phenomenon guided the development of a multidimensional tool to assess Covid-19 vaccination hesitancy, as at the onset of the fourth wave of Covid-19 literature still lacks specific instruments for assessing the phenomena in its complexity. The aim of the study was to preliminary validate the Multidimensional Covid-19 Vaccine Hesitancy Scale, a new self-report measure for the assessment of beliefs and attitudes beneath vaccination hesitancy and barriers for vaccine uptake / reasons for vaccine refusal in the context of Covid-19. <br>

尽管自2021年初起，新冠疫苗（COVID-19 vaccines）便已面向普通人群普及，但疫苗犹豫（Vaccine Hesitancy）现象仍广泛存在。在此背景下，一款经过验证、可精准评估疫苗犹豫的工具至关重要。鉴于该现象兼具复杂性、动态性与情境特异性的本质，且在新冠疫情第四波暴发初期，现有研究文献仍缺乏能够全面评估该复杂现象的专用工具，因此研发了这款用于评估新冠疫苗犹豫的多维度工具。本研究旨在对多维度新冠疫苗犹豫量表（Multidimensional Covid-19 Vaccine Hesitancy Scale）进行初步验证，该量表为一款全新的自报告式测评工具，可用于评估新冠疫情背景下疫苗犹豫背后的信念与态度，以及疫苗接种的阻碍因素与疫苗拒绝的原因。
