The transcription Roc1 is involved in cellulose degradation in the mushroom-forming fungus Schizophyllum commune. To identify binding sites of Roc1 during growth on cellulose, wildtype and a roc1 deletion strain were grown on glucose and cellulose. This data provides a better understanding of cellulose degradation in mushroom forming fungi. Cellulose is a major component of lignocellulose and can be fermented into biofuel, enabling renewable energy production.
