Longitudinal development of the airway metagenome of preterm very low birth weight infants during the first two years of life.

The development of the airway metagenome of preterm infants (n=24) was investigated by shotgun metagenome sequencing of oropharyngeal swabs. Samples were taken in the preterms first week of life, after one month when they were still at the hospital and both after nine and 15 months of age.
