These data enclosed our manuscript entitled ‘Patterns of Surface Sediments Controlled by Slope Deformation on Seamounts’, which we have requested to consider for publication as an Original Article in Earth and Planetary Science Leters.These data formed the Figure 2 and 3 in the article. Two hundred five drilling shallow borehole samples on the four guyot slopes from The magellan seamounts. Forty-two of these are loose sediment (LS) on slopes with gradients between 0.4 and 5.5° that data shown in the file "LooseSediments(LS).CSV"; 132 are Cobalt-rich crusts(CS) on slopes of 3.5–37.3° that data shown in the file "CrustSediments(CS).CSV ", and 31 are ER on slopes of 15.1–43.7° that shown in the file "ExposedRocks(ER) .CSV". Slope gradients and depth were projected onto a scatter diagram, shown in Figure 2 Sixty one pictures were taken at the seafloor, of which six locations are shown in Figure 1c. Slope gradients and sample types are shown in Figure 3. The correlation between sediment types and slope gradients observed by TV video is consistent with the conclusion of Figure 2. Total 20 locations just as Pic3 and Pic6 show TS coverings between the slopes on which CS and LS are deposited, featuring brecciated rocks with some ferromanganese nodules and gravels. Slope at those locations have 3.8–6.0°gradient range, shown in Table4. Their data in the Excel file named "Vis1802"
