Human breast cancer(HBC) is a very complex disease with both genetic and non-genetic factors as well as the heterogeneity of human populations need to be addressed and overcome to discover missing high-risk genes in HBC. To better understand both human breast cancer(HBC) and canine mammary tumor(CMT), we performed exome sequencing in the 20 pairs of normal and tumor tissues of CMT from multiple canine breeds to explore both germline and somatic variants associated with CMTs across different breeds. Such comparative studies may allow us to better understand both HBC and CMT, and lend new insight into the development of biomarkers and targets for both of these cancers.

人类乳腺癌(Human breast cancer, HBC)是一类极为复杂的疾病,其致病相关的遗传与非遗传因素、人群异质性问题均亟待解决与攻克,方能挖掘出HBC中尚未被发现的高风险基因。为更深入地解析人类乳腺癌(HBC)与犬乳腺肿瘤(Canine mammary tumor, CMT),我们针对多个犬种来源的20对CMT正常组织与肿瘤组织开展了外显子组测序,以探索不同犬种背景下与CMT相关的生殖系变异与体细胞变异。此类比较研究可帮助我们更透彻地理解HBC与CMT的发病机制,并为这两类癌症的生物标志物开发与治疗靶点研发提供全新的研究视角。
