Metaplastic breast cancer: the role of molecular subtype in prognosis

The molecular subtype was not associated with the prognosis. In addition, patients could not benefit from CT. In contrast, RT might be associated with improved survival both OS and BCSS in TN MBC and HRp MBC but not HER2-positive patients. Those results will help to reduce the part of patients’ health hazards of x-ray radiation.

分子亚型与患者预后无显著关联。此外，患者无法从计算机断层扫描（Computed Tomography, CT）中获益。与之相反，放射治疗（Radiation Therapy, RT）或可提升三阴性转移性乳腺癌（Triple-negative Metastatic Breast Cancer, TN MBC）与激素受体阳性转移性乳腺癌（Hormone Receptor-positive Metastatic Breast Cancer, HRp MBC）患者的总生存期（Overall Survival, OS）及乳腺癌特异性生存期（Breast Cancer-Specific Survival, BCSS），但该获益并不适用于人表皮生长因子受体2阳性（Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2-positive, HER2-positive）患者。本研究结果将有助于减轻部分患者所承受的X射线辐射健康危害。
