This digital soil type map was derived from the 1:1,000,000 scale Sichuan Province soil map from the Second National Soil Survey via digitization and projection transformation, and subsequently updated with the latest land use data. Adopting the Genetic Soil Classification Standard, this map reflects the major soil types in China and their spatial distribution patterns, and roughly depicts the distribution of arable soils and the utilization directions of all types of soils nationwide. It can serve as a foundational basis for compiling national soil resource maps and soil fertility maps, provide scientific support for national soil utilization and improvement zoning, agricultural zoning, natural zoning and other relevant regionalization work, and can be referenced by agricultural and forestry authorities, scientific research institutions and educational institutions.
