The data contain time series of optical-equivalent snow grain size (r_opt) retrieved from airborne spectral surface albedo measurements North of Greenland during PAMARCMiP (Polar Airborne Measurements and Arctic Regional Climate Model Simulation Project) in spring 2018. The data of three flights were measured under cloudless, low Sun, and partly rough surface conditions. Snow r_opt was retrieved from two wavelength approaches based on spectral surface albedo data using (i) the albedo ratio between 1280 nm and 1100 nm wavelength (ratio-method), and (ii) the surface albedo at 1700 nm (1700nm-method). The corresponding spectral surface albedo (also included in the data set) was derived from measurements by the Spectral Modular Airborne Radiation measurement sysTem (SMART) mounted on the Polar 5 research aircraft operated by AWI.
本数据集包含2018年春季北极航空测量与北极区域气候模式模拟项目(Polar Airborne Measurements and Arctic Regional Climate Model Simulation Project,PAMARCMiP)期间,从格陵兰岛北部机载光谱地表反照率测量数据中反演得到的光学等效雪粒粒径(optical-equivalent snow grain size,r_opt)时间序列。本次实验共开展3次飞行任务,所有观测均在无云、低太阳高度角且地表部分粗糙的条件下完成。研究基于光谱地表反照率数据,通过两种波长反演方法获取雪粒r_opt:其一为基于1280 nm与1100 nm波段反照率比值的比值法(ratio-method),其二为基于1700 nm波段地表反照率的1700nm法(1700nm-method)。数据集同步收录对应的光谱地表反照率数据,该数据由安装于阿尔弗雷德·魏格纳研究所(AWI)运营的“极地5号”(Polar 5)研究飞机上的光谱模块化机载辐射测量系统(Spectral Modular Airborne Radiation measurement sysTem,SMART)采集得到。
