This dataset contains measurements of plant and soil elemental composition collected from a rainfall and root herbivore manipulation experiment conducted in a native temperate grassland in eastern Australia. The experiment ran for three years (2014–2016) and consisted of factorial combinations of rainfall treatments (Ambient, Reduced amount, Reduced frequency) and root herbivory treatments (presence/absence of root herbivores), across 36 experimental plots.
Soil and plant samples were collected annually at the end of the growing season. A suite of macro- and micronutrients (e.g., C, N, P, K, Mg, S, Ca, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, B, Na, Mo, Al) was measured in both soil and plant material.
