VPRS 6154 Certificates of Marriage (Counterparts)

Bound volumes consisting of marriage certificate counterparts. Each certificate contains the following information:- District- Number in Register- Denomination- When and where married- Name and Surname of each party- Conjugal conditions and date of decease of former spouse, or date of divorce (if applicable)- Children by each former marriage ( whether living or dead)- Birthplace of each party- Occupation of each party- Age of each party- Residence of each party- Parent's names of each party (together with father's occupation and mother's maiden name.)Each certificate of Marriage was completed in triplicate:1st copy was given to the parties to the Marriage,2nd copy was sent to the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages (where it was registered,)3rd copy (of which this series consists) was retained in volume the certificates are in chronological order although they may cover a number of districts.volumes have been arranged according to denomination and then in rough chronological order (by the date of the first certificate in each volume.) Whilst this arrangement is far from satisfactory for retrieval purposes, a chronological or alphabetical is impossible due to the overlap in dates and districts.

1. 第一份交予婚姻双方
2. 第二份送交出生、死亡及婚姻登记处（Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages）并在此处登记
3. 第三份（本系列所包含的副本）留存于合订本中

证书按时间顺序排列，尽管其可能涵盖多个地区。合订本先按教派排列，再按大致时间顺序（以每册首份证书的日期为准）编排。尽管这种编排方式在检索方面远非理想，但由于日期与地区存在重叠，按时间或字母顺序排列已无可能。
