BPCR database collected in Babati rural Tanzania in 2019.This study aimed to assess knowledge and practice of birth preparedness and complication readiness among women in a Babati rural district, northern Tanzania<br><br><b>Methods:</b> A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted in July 2019, among women who delivered in the 24 months prior to the study. Questionnaires were used for data collection, which included demographic data, ante natal care history, and knowledge of danger signs, birth preparedness and readiness of its complications.<br>Two wards (Dareda and Magugu) were randomly selected out of 25 wards in the district. At Magugu and Dareda wards, the district RCH coordinator introduced us to the village chairpersons and village health workers (CHWs). Five villages were selected for the study. The CHWs developed a list of households with women who have children of 2 years or less in the five villages, and 70 household in each of the villages were randomly selected. At the field starting point was identified at the village with assistance of village chairperson and data was collected from one house to another with aid of CHWs. Data collection started at 9 a.m and continued to 6pm. Before interviewing, the participant was informed of the aims and objectives <br>of the study and was asked for consent to participate in the study. Six undergraduate students (Medical students year 4) collected the data, three at Magugu and three at Dareda. A Swahili questionnaire [TJ1] was used to collect information from the participants. The interviews were conducted at either the participant’s home, or at health facility room depending on the preference of the participant. After finishing data collection verbal observation from the field was shared with the DMO, which was followed by a full research report of the study after completion. <br>

BPCR数据库于2019年在坦桑尼亚巴巴蒂农村地区采集。本研究旨在评估坦桑尼亚北部巴巴蒂农村地区女性的分娩准备及并发症应对认知与实践水平。<br><br><b>方法:</b>本研究于2019年7月开展一项基于社区的横断面研究,研究对象为研究开展前24个月内有过分娩经历的女性。研究采用问卷收集数据,内容涵盖人口统计学资料、产前保健史、危险征兆认知、分娩准备及并发症应对认知情况。<br>本研究从该地区25个村级行政单位(ward)中随机抽取2个,分别为达雷达与马古古。在达雷达与马古古村级行政单位,地区生殖与儿童保健(RCH)协调员协助研究团队对接各村村长与社区卫生工作者(Community Health Workers, CHWs)。研究人员从这两个行政单位下辖的自然村中选取5个开展本研究,由社区卫生工作者梳理出这5个村中家中育有2岁及以下儿童的女性住户清单,并从每个村中随机抽取70户家庭。在村长协助下确定入户调查的起始点位,由社区卫生工作者协助开展逐户访谈。数据收集工作每日于上午9时至下午6时进行。访谈开始前,研究人员会向受访者说明本研究的目的与宗旨,并征得其参与研究的知情同意。本次数据收集工作由6名四年级医学生完成,达雷达与马古古各分配3名。研究采用斯瓦希里语问卷[TJ1]采集受访者信息。访谈地点可选择受访者家中或医疗卫生机构诊室,由受访者自行偏好决定。数据收集完成后,现场调研的口头反馈将同步分享给地区医疗官员(District Medical Officer, DMO),全部研究工作结束后还将提交完整的研究报告。
