Plasmodium falciparum natural genome variation

Direct or cultured field isolates of Plasmodium falciparum are being sequenced to provide contributing investigators with genetic data to support locally-driven studies, while also contributing to the development of a repository of natural P. falciparum genome variation. This global dataset will provide a resource for genome-wide association studies and other genomic studies aimed at identifying genetic loci responsible for such phenotypes as antimalarial drug resistance.
