本数据样品采集于1992年4-12月南极中山站以东的内拉湾,用PICO冰钻钻取冰芯,在实验室内从表到底10cm分层,样品在室温(约10℃)下避光自然融化。融化样经过滤浓缩后用戊二醛固定(最终浓度为1.5%),低温(4℃)避光保存回国分析。用HITACHI S-520型电镜鉴定藻种,在Zeiss AXIOSKOP 50 型光学显微镜下用浮游植物计数框进行丰度统计。
数据显示峰值出现在秋季和春季冰藻水华期间的冰底,丰度分别为1.1*106 and 2.4*108 cells/l。 冬季的峰值出现在海冰内部,主要由于秋季冰藻水华残余的存在以及冰底生物量较低。
采集相关数据的主要目的是了解中山站近岸冰藻群落结构、垂直分布和季节变化。
The data samples were collected from Nella Bay, east of China's Zhongshan Station in Antarctica, between April and December 1992. Ice cores were drilled using a PICO ice drill. In the laboratory, the cores were sectioned into 10 cm layers from the surface to the bottom. The samples were allowed to melt naturally at room temperature (approximately 10°C) in the dark.
The melted samples were filtered, concentrated, fixed with glutaraldehyde (final concentration of 1.5%), and stored at low temperature (4°C) in the dark for analysis after returning to the country. Algal species were identified using a HITACHI S-520 electron microscope, and abundance was counted using a phytoplankton counting chamber under a Zeiss AXIOSKOP 50 optical microscope.
The data show that peaks occurred at the bottom of the ice during the autumn and spring ice algae blooms, with abundances of 1.1×10⁶ and 2.4×10⁸ cells/L, respectively. The winter peak occurred inside the sea ice, mainly due to the presence of residues from the autumn ice algae bloom and the low biomass at the ice bottom.
The main purpose of collecting these data is to understand the community structure, vertical distribution, and seasonal variation of ice algae in the coastal waters near Zhongshan Station.
