A new dinuclear cobalt(III) complex, 2[Co2L(HL)N3]·5H2O, derived from the reduced Schiff base 6,6’-(2-hydroxypropane-1,3-diyl)bis(azanediyl)bis(methylene)bis(2-bromo-4-chlorophenol) (H3L), was synthesized and characterized by infrared and electronic spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. The ligand was firstly synthesized and bound to the Co(III) center. The compound contains two dinuclear [Co2L(HL)N3] complex molecules and five water molecules of crystallization. The Co atoms in the complex are in octahedral coordination. The complex shows effective antimicrobial activity.

本研究合成了一种由还原希夫碱(reduced Schiff base)6,6’-(2-羟基丙烷-1,3-二基)双(亚氨基)双(亚甲基)双(2-溴-4-氯苯酚)(H₃L)衍生得到的新型双核钴(III)配合物2[Co₂L(HL)N₃]·5H₂O,并通过红外光谱、电子光谱以及单晶X射线衍射技术对其进行了表征。该配体首先经合成,并与钴(III)中心配位结合。该化合物包含两个双核[Co₂L(HL)N₃]配合物分子与五个结晶水分子。配合物中的钴原子均采取八面体配位构型。该配合物表现出优异的抗菌活性。
