Coding Sheets and Frequency Data for "Attack Vectors and Countermeasures in Digital Information Security: A Systematic Review"

This dataset accompanies the systematic review "Attack Vectors and Countermeasures in Digital Information Security: A Systematic Review" (Shuvro Sankar Sen and Rajarshi Roy Chowdhury, 2026). The review synthesises 53 peer-reviewed studies published between 2020 and 2025, identified through searches of six databases following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. This repository contains the per-study coding sheets and frequency data underlying the review's quantitative synthesis (Figures 2-4 of the manuscript), together with the script that regenerates the frequency tables and figures directly from the coding sheets. Contents:- coding_sheet.csv — per-study attack-vector and sector coding (Supplementary Table S3 of the manuscript), with one-line rationales for each assignment- coding_sheet_countermeasures.csv — per-study countermeasure-category coding (Supplementary Table S4), with one-line rationales- AttackVectors_Frequencies.csv — attack-vector category counts underlying Figure 2- Countermeasures_Frequencies.csv — countermeasure category counts underlying Figure 3 - Domains_Frequencies.csv — domain ategory counts underlying Figure 4- generate_figures.ipynb — regenerates Figures 2-4 from the coding sheets Provenance: the per-study coding was derived from the Table 1 fields of the review (each study's stated research problem, key achievements, targeted domain, and evaluation methodology) rather than from re-reading the full text of each article, and was produced with the assistance of a generative AI tool (Claude, Anthropic). All AI-assisted coding was reviewed, verified, and approved by the authors, who take full responsibility for its accuracy and integrity.
