Corrected LaMEM and ASPECT input files for Degen et al. (2025), EGUsphere 1–24.
收藏资源简介:
This contains corrected input scripts in an attempt to reproduce the results of: Degen, D., Kumar, A., Scheck-Wenderoth, M., Cacace, M., 2025. Exploiting Physics-Based Machine Learning to Quantify Geodynamic Effects – Insights from the Alpine Region. EGUsphere 1–24. https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2025-1925 The input scripts used in the original version of the manuscript are available from: Kumar, A., 2025. LaMEM and ASPECT input and data files corresponding to Exploiting Physics-Based Machine Learning to Quantify Geodynamic Effects – Insights from the Alpine Region. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15478977 As discussed in my review of the originally submitted manuscript, there are serious issues with the forward models used in Degen et al. (2025). This repository contains corrected input files. The following directories are available: /ASPECT Corrected ASPECT input files such that they work with ASPECT 2.5.0, for both the original and the corrected initial model setup. TrainingParameterAlps_LHS_100_vary_viscosity_density.txt - parameters used by Degen at al. (2025) alps_HR_84.prm - original input file made work for v2.5.0, corresponding to parameters of line 84 of the parametere file, with a free surface alps_HR_84_air.prm.prm - original input file made work for v2.5.0, corresponding to parameters of line 84 of the parametere file, with a sticky air layer alps_HR_84_correct.prm - corresponding to parameters of line 84 of the parameter file with free surface, but with corrected initial geometry alps_HR_83.prm - corresponding to parameters of line 83 of the parameter file with free surface alps_HR_83_air.prm - corresponding to parameters of line 83 of the parameter file with sticky air alps_HR_83_correct.prm - corresponding to parameters of line 83 of the parameter file with free surface, but with corrected initial geometry alps_HR_83_air_correct.prm - corresponding to parameters of line 83 of the parameter file with sticky air, but with corrected initial geometry alps_HR_90.prm - corresponding to parameters of line 90 of the parameter file with a free surface alps_HR_90_correct.prm - corresponding to parameters of line 90 of the parameter file with free surface, but with corrected initial geometry /LaMEM LaMEM input files (along with marker files) alps_lith_slabs_400km_HR_reg_HR_84_air.dat: corresponding to parameters of line 84 of the parameter file with a free surface alps_lith_slabs_400km_HR_reg_HR_83_air.dat: corresponding to parameters of line 83 of the parameter file with a free surface alps_lith_slabs_400km_HR_reg_HR_90_air.dat: corresponding to parameters of line 90 of the parameter file with a free surface A julia script is also provided, that takes the results of the data file and generates an appropriate material input for LaMEM simulations (minimising mistakes). Julia Project.toml and Manifest.toml guarantee reproducibility of the LaMEM simulations (distributed as precompiled binaries through the julia package LaMEM.jl). /ParaviewStatefiles Contains ParaView statefiles for the figures shown in the comment on the manuscript. Note that the directories will require adjustment if this is used on a different machine. /Histograms Contains a julia script to create the velocity histograms shown in my review.
