Env amino acid sequence alignment of SHIV-MK1 and its in vivo-derived variants

This dataset contains an alignment of 48 Env amino acid sequences derived from SHIV-MK1 and its in vivo-derived variants. The sequences include the parental SHIV-MK1, Env clones obtained during serial in vivo passage through rhesus macaques MM482, MM498, and MM504, nine SHIV-MK38 molecular clones (#811–#819), and longitudinal Env clones obtained during persistent infection of MM482. The dataset was used to investigate the emergence and maintenance of the Env substitution N169D and its association with genetic backgrounds containing substitutions at positions 170, 187, 190, 389, and 437. All sequences are provided as a multiple sequence alignment in FASTA format.
