Site Characterization of Liquefaction and Critical Infrastructure using Seismic Array This dataset contains seismic field data acquired in the Durrës Basin, Albania, within the Geo-INQUIRE Transnational Access project “Site Characterization of Liquefaction and Critical Infrastructure using Seismic Array – Infra Soil Array”. The project was carried out by the Albanian research team hosted by the Academy of Sciences of Albania, Unit of Geosciences and Geoengineering, with access to the MobSeis Mobile Seismic Array facility provided through Geo-INQUIRE and hosted by TNO, Netherlands. The field measurements were performed using autonomous MobSeis / Sercel Unite acquisition units equipped with three-component digital DSU3-428 MEMS accelerometer sensors. Each unit records ground motion independently in three orthogonal components, including one vertical and two horizontal components, and includes integrated GPS for time synchronization and sensor positioning. The measurements were designed to support seismic site characterization, local site-response analysis, liquefaction-related investigations, and seismic microzonation studies in the Durrës Basin. The acquisition campaign included passive ambient-noise measurements, HVSR recordings, active MASW profiles, and passive array configurations suitable for SPAC/ESAC and surface-wave analysis. The primary dataset consists of raw seismic field records in SEG-D format, organized into active and passive seismic measurements. Each measurement has been compressed into a RAR archive, allowing the one-minute acquisition files belonging to the same measurement to be handled as a single dataset file. Supplementary SEG-Y files are provided for several measurement sites to support compatibility with seismic and geophysical processing software. The SEG-D files remain the reference raw data archive, preserving the original acquisition metadata, including sampling parameters, channel information, GPS timing, sensor metadata, coordinates, and recording configuration. For the checked acquisition files, the main recording configuration includes a sampling interval of 2 ms, corresponding to a sampling frequency of 500 Hz and a Nyquist frequency of 250 Hz. A typical record contains 96 traces, corresponding to 32 active three-component recording units, with 30,000 samples per trace for a 60-second record. Acquisition parameters should be verified individually from the SEG-D headers for each specific file. The dataset is intended to support research in seismic microzonation, ambient-noise analysis, HVSR, MASW, passive seismic arrays, shallow subsurface characterization, liquefaction-prone areas, and geotechnical earthquake engineering applications in coastal Albania. Users requiring additional converted formats, such as SEG-Y or MiniSEED/MSEED, or conversion scripts for further processing, may contact the project coordinator.
