The goal of this project is to study the effect of high temperatures on global gene expression in Nothofagus pumilio, the most important tree of Patagonian forest, the southernmost woody ecosystem of the planet. We are also interested in temperature susceptibility on different times of the day. Genomic resources are very scarce for the whole genus, but characterizing these trees' response to high temperatures is of utmost importance in a context of climate change.
本项目的研究目标为探究高温对小南山毛榉(Nothofagus pumilio)全局基因表达的影响;该树种是巴塔哥尼亚森林——全球最南端的木本生态系统——的核心优势树种。此外,我们还关注一天中不同时段下的温度敏感性问题。目前南山毛榉属(Nothofagus)的全属基因组资源均极为匮乏,但在气候变化的背景下,阐明这类树木对高温的响应机制具有极其重要的意义。
