Genetic mosaicism and somatic mutation rate in tropical trees. Shorea laevis

In a long-lived organism, somatic mutations accumulate throughout the long lifespan and result in genetic mosaicism in each module within the same individual. Our goal is to elucidate the laws of somatic mutation accumulation by whole genome sequencing of Shorea laevis.

对于长寿命生物体而言，体细胞突变（somatic mutations）会在其漫长的生命周期中持续积累，致使同一生物体的各个模块产生遗传嵌合性（genetic mosaicism）。本研究旨在通过对钝叶娑罗双（Shorea laevis）开展全基因组测序（whole genome sequencing），阐明体细胞突变积累的规律。
