Air samples from the Amazonian atmosphere

Biological particles suspended in the atmosphere have a crucial role in the dynamics of the biosphere underneath. In order to identify airborne fungal and plant material above the Amazon forest, air samples were taken at 300 meters above the canopy in central Amazonia and analyzed with high-throughput DNA sequencing techniques.
