25 meters of trasect tape was laid out, walking along the trasect tape any animals found were recorded. the animals were classifed, their frequency, and the distance from the transect tape was recorded. this was repeated 5 times in a woodlot area and 5 times in a grassland area.

研究人员布设25米长的样带卷尺（transect tape），沿该样带卷尺行进时记录沿途发现的所有动物；对动物类群进行鉴定分类，并同步记录其出现频次与距样带卷尺的距离。该调查方案在小片林地（woodlot）区域重复开展5次，在草地（grassland）区域亦重复开展5次。
