Salmacisia buchloeana strain:OK1 Genome sequencing and assembly

Salmacisia buchloeana is a dimorphic Basidiomycota parasite that induces hermaphroditism in its otherwise dioecious host buffalograss (Buchloe dactyloides). Infection by S. buchloeana also increases the overall sexual reproductive allocation of its host. Our goal is to better understand how S. buchloeana infection regulates host organ development and resource allocation and apply this new information towards crop improvement of annual and perennial grass species.

布氏盐霉（Salmacisia buchloeana）是一种二态性担子菌门（Basidiomycota）寄生真菌，可诱导其原本为雌雄异株的宿主野牛草（Buchloe dactyloides）形成雌雄同体。该真菌的侵染还可提升宿主的整体生殖资源分配水平。本研究旨在进一步阐明布氏盐霉侵染调控宿主器官发育与资源分配的机制，并将相关研究成果应用于一年生及多年生草本作物的遗传改良。
