By screening a human hepatoma cell cDNA library with a porcine TGFBR2 cDNA as probe, {20:Lin et al. (1992)} isolated a TGFBR2 cDNA encoding a deduced 567-amino acid protein. The protein contains a predicted cysteine-rich extracellular domain, a single hydrophobic transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic serine/threonine kinase domain. The human and porcine proteins share 88% sequence identity.
