Metabarcoding with amplicon sequencing of microalgae in the gut and breeding sites of Aedes aegypti larvae in Thailand

The objectives of this study were (1) to survey microalgae in the gut and breeding sites of Ae. aegypti larvae in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand, using light microscopy and metabarcoding with amplicon sequencing; (2) to investigate the species composition, relative abundance, and relationship of microalgae in the gut of Ae. aegypti larvae and in their breeding sites; and (3) to investigate the diversity of the microalgal communities living in the gut and breeding sites.

本研究的目标如下：（1）采用光学显微镜（light microscopy）与基于扩增子测序（amplicon sequencing）的元条形码（metabarcoding）技术，对泰国那空是贪玛叻府境内埃及伊蚊（Ae. aegypti）幼虫的肠道及其滋生地中的微藻（microalgae）进行调查；（2）探究埃及伊蚊幼虫肠道及其滋生地内微藻的物种组成、相对丰度及二者间的相互关系；（3）分析栖息于幼虫肠道与滋生地的微藻群落多样性。
