BIOME4 vegetation simulations for Beringia

Biome distributions for Beringia were simulated for the Late Quaternary periods by employing a global equilibrium biogeochemistry-biogeography model, BIOME4. This model was driven by the same numerical climate model outputs as used for the frozen ground mapping, and validated against the above pollen-based biomes. Projection of future biomes for the region has also been produced.

本研究借助全球平衡生物地球化学-生物地理学模型BIOME4，对白令陆桥（Beringia）晚第四纪时期的生物群系（Biome）分布开展了模拟。该模型采用与冻土制图一致的数值气候模型输出作为驱动数据，并基于前述基于孢粉的生物群系完成了验证。此外，本研究还生成了该区域未来生物群系的分布投影结果。
